This was filmed at a quilt show in a small town in Wisconsin, where there were over a hundred quilts on display and people could even vote for their favorites. I didn’t really expect much going into it, I was just taking photos, but once I started looking at them more closely, I realized how different they all were and at the same time how well they could work together. So I photographed all of them and later edited everything in a way where the patterns kind of flow into each other and feel connected. At the beginning I talk about how I somehow ended up in an American newspaper, which still feels a bit random, because it all started with me just taking photos of blankets. But yeah, sometimes things just happen like that.
